Although The Beatles had a well-earned day off from their Christmas Show season, George Harrison and Ringo Starr granted an interview to the BBC. The precise time and location is not known, but it took place in either their flat at 57 Green Street, London, or in presenter Tony Hall’s flat on the other side of the same street.The appearance was for the Light Programme’s magazine show The Public Ear, which was broadcast between 3pm and 4pm on Sunday 12 January.The interview was in letter form, and appeared in the show’s Air Mail section. George and Ringo requested The Miracles’ I’ve Been Good To You, and George revealed that his favourite singers included Mary Wells, The Miracles and Marvin Gaye.
