Mono mixes of each of the songs had been created the previous day by George Martin. The session took place from 10am-12.30pm in the control room of Studio Two, with George Martin overseeing the work. The stereo mix of Day Tripper was created for the group’s US and Australian record labels, as The Beatles’ singles were mono only in the UK at this time.The Beatles were not present as they were receiving their MBEs from the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
