Although The Beatles had finished filming Help! on 11 May 1965, they returned to Twickenham Film Studios on this day to record post-sync work for the audio track. The group overdubbed speech onto various scenes in the film. Their contributions ranged from full lines of dialogue to mumbled asides and laughter. Among the new recordings was an extract from I Sat Beloneyly from John Lennon’s In His Own Write, during the scene with Lennon and Ringo Starr walking to a post box. A second day of post-sync work took place on 16 June 1965.In the evening Paul McCartney and Jane Asher saw Gene Barry perform at London nightclub Talk Of The Town, and spoke to him after the show. They ended the night at Downstairs At The Pickwick, another club in the capital.
