Viaje: Hamburgo a Liverpool

Having performed the last date of their second residency at Hamburg’s Star-Club the night before, The Beatles began their return journey to Liverpool on this day. The Star-Club residency began on 1 November 1962 and ended 14 days later. The Beatles performed for three and a half hours each night, for which they were each paid 600DM (£53.50) a week. It wasn’t a good time for them, however. With their star rising back home in England, they resented being in Germany for such lengthy spells.During the trip Paul McCartney wrote to a friend: “Nothing happened: a thoroughly uneventful week has passed … In fact Hamburg is dead as far as we’re concerned.”
