16 de junio de 1966 – Por primera vez los Beatles aparecen en vivo en el programa Top Of The Pops interpretando Rain y Paperback Writer. Durante mucho tiempo se habían limitado a enviar shows pregrabados o clips para promocionar sus canciones.

Esta vez los Beatles aceptaron aparecer en el programa solo dos días antes, cuando el manager Brian Epstein aceptó la petición del productor Johnnie Stewart.
El grupo se trasladó en el Rolls Royce negro de John Lennon y llegaron a la BBC Television Centre a las 2:30 pm para un ensayo ante las cámara, sesiones de fotos y entrevistas con la prensa. Luego siguieron los ensayos entre las 16:15 a 17:30, y 18:30 a 19:00 hs.
La transmisión en vivo se realizó entre las 19:30 y las 20:00 en la BBC One. Los Beatles aparecieron en la parte final haciendo playback y fueron presentados por el anfitrión Pete Murray. Interpretaron Rain y Paperback Writer, en ese orden.
Esta fue la única aparición en vivo de los Beatles en el programa Top Of The Pops, y a excepción de la trasmisión vía satélite a todo el mundo interpretando All You Need Is Love el 25 de junio de 1967, esta fue la última actuación en vivo en televisión como grupo.

Ese mismo día y hasta las 3 de la mañana del 17 de junio, los Beatles trabajaron en la canción Here, There And Everywhere.
En abril de 2019 se encontró en México un fragmento de 11 segundos de esta ultima aparición en Top Of The Pops.
Una familia de Liverpool grabó las imágenes de los Beatles, desde un televisor y con una cámara de 8 mm. Años más tarde un coleccionista de México encontró el material y él se lo entregó a Kaleidoscope, una empresa inglesa, especializada en material de televisión perdido.
