Sgt Pepper collage se vende en una subasta por £ 55,250

A collage made by Sir Peter Blake and Jann Haworth for The Beatles’ album Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band has sold at auction for £55,250. The collage was used as an insert in the 1967 album. It was intended for fans to cut out the designs of Sgt Pepper’s moustache, sripes and medals, as well as The Beatles.It was sold at Sotheby’s auction house in London, and had been valued at £50,000 to £80,000. The collage was described by James Rawlin, Sotheby’s senior specialist in modern British paintings, as “a tangible slice of rock history”.Sergeant Pepper had a huge impact on the cultural landscape – it was the first concept album, when music, story, image and studio expertise all came together.James RawlinSotheby’sShortly after its completion, the 30cm square collage was presented to the wife of architect Colin St John Wilson. It was inscribed with the message “For MJ from Peter and Jann, Mar 1967”.
