This was the last of four consecutive dates of a mini tour of England, each promoted by John Smith. They were granted by Brian Epstein following the cancellation of several Mersey Beat Showcase nights earlier in 1963. The Beatles earned £250 for each of the concerts. They performed at Croydon’s Fairfield Hall on one other occasion, 25 April 1963.
