En vivo: Forest Hills Tennis Stadium, Nueva York

The second of The Beatles’ two performances at the Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York City was seen by 16,000 fans. Although they performed their standard live set, and outwardly they looked like the same group, a subtle yet significant shift had taken place. This was The Beatles’ first concert since Bob Dylan had turned them on to cannabis, a drug which had a significant effect on their music and lives in subsequent years. As with the previous night’s show, all 15,983 seats were sold out, although extra ones were made available at the high price of $6.50.The Beatles performed 12 songs: Twist And Shout, You Can’t Do That, All My Loving, She Loves You, Things We Said Today, Roll Over Beethoven, Can’t Buy Me Love, If I Fell, I Want To Hold Your Hand, Boys, A Hard Day’s Night and Long Tall Sally. The support acts were, in order of appearance, The Bill Black Combo, The Exciters, The Righteous Brothers and Jackie DeShannon.
