Grabación, mezcla, edición: efectos de sonido sin título, Hello, Goodbye, The Fool On The Hill

Studio Three (control room), EMI Studios, Abbey RoadProducer: George MartinEngineer: Ken ScottThis session, which ran from 2.30-6pm, began with the recording of a brief tape containing sound effects from the Abbey Road archive, for inclusion in the Yellow Submarine film. Although it was a one-off, the tape was numbered take 20. Afterwards, The Beatles turned their attentions to Magical Mystery Tour songs.A decision had been made to add more bass guitar to Hello, Goodbye, which necessitated a fourth reduction mix. This was completed in four attempts, numbered takes 22-25. According to the tape logs, these mixes were for “Parts Two and Three” of the song, suggesting an edit was later made, but no evidence of such an action exists. The second bass overdub was made on the following day, 2 November 1967.The first Magical Mystery Tour song to receive a stereo mix was The Fool On The Hill. This was created in five attempts, the last of which was edited at the end of the session to reduce its length.
