Museo Beatlemania se abre en Hamburgo

A museum dedicated to The Beatles opened today in Hamburg, Germany, 49 years after the group first performed in the city. The museum, called Beatlemania, includes artefacts and interactive exhibits over five floors.It is situated in the Reeperbahn, where the group performed in the Indra, Top Ten, Kaiserkeller and Star-Club venues during five stints between 1960 and 1962. They also returned for a concert at the city’s Ernst Merck Halle on 26 June 1966.A memorial square, Beatles-Platz, was opened in Hamburg in 2008, containing five stainless steel sculptures of The Beatles.The museum is situated in the building which formerly housed the Erotic Arts Museum at Nobistor 10, 22767 St Pauli.More information can be found on the website, which at the time of writing is in German only.
